Parents Day Celebration


Bright Future School ended the academic year with two successful parent’s day in Addis Ababa and Hawassa for the two branches. The events were held in June 30, 2013 for the Addis Ababa branch and July 7, 2013. The ceremony involved all the school community with several appealing shows from our students starting from Kindergarten to High school students.


The shows in the event were educational as they involved cultural and academic aspects.  Top scoring students were also awarded!

World Food Day Poster Contest

Bright Future School students aged 5 to 17, are invited to enter their work in the competition. The contest involves all young people from around the world.

Poster designs may be drawn, painted or digitally designed. The winning entries (from three different age groups) will be published on the World Food Day website, the EndingHunger website, the EndingHunger Facebook page, and FAO’s Facebook page.

The winners will receive Certificates of Recognition signed by a United Nations official, and the popular Ending Hunger T-shirt. The first-place winner in each age group will also receive a special surprise gift !

Deadline for entries:  30 September 2013.

To generate excitement and enthusiasm in your class:

1)  Present the contest

Promotional materials about the contest – for posting in your classroom, for example – can be downloaded from the poster contest website:

 2)  Introduce the theme

Share some facts about hunger in the world today.

Explain how sustainable food systems can make a difference.

3)  Explain the materials for creating posters

Pens, pencils, crayons, charcoals, paint or other materials may be used to create a poster entry. Working on an A4 sheet is recommended, to make it easier for you to scan and upload your poster design. Please consult the fact sheet attached for contest rules.  4)  Idea starters

  • Use questions to get your class thinking about ideas for their posters.
  • Discuss possible characters to include in the poster design.
  • Describe the setting where the action takes place.
  • Define the time period: present day, the future, the past or a combination.
  • Discuss food systems and how we are part of them.
  • Discuss the purpose of the poster design and ask the students to consider how the viewer will react.

Educational Trip

Our youngest students - Pre-kg to preparatory class students traveled for an educational trip to Lion's Zoo (Ambassa Gibi) located at 6 killo area of Addis Ababa.
